Road in was smooth until Indian Springs Campground. Needed 4WD beyond that. Began at white large X on the right side of road. Did not use a trail to hike as the book we followed indicated there was not a trail, but looks as if there may have been an easier way up. Watch out for thorny dried brush in the aspens. Beautiful views from summit. 2 round peak markers present. Many deer in the area. Great hike.
