If it weren't for its big brother, the Black Hole of White Canyon just upstream, this section of White Canyon would be high on every hikers list. The hike is excellent, starting out on open desert, and working up White Canyon as it quickly deepens. The colors, narrows, and striking walls leave an impression on the hiker.

The canyon does generally have a fair bit of wading and possible short swims. Do this one in warm weather. Motivated hikers can hike all the way up to the Black Hole exit (or beyond), but most will wander 3-4 hours round trip to the highway bridge and back. The section below the highway bridge is, in my opinion, the best section of White aside from the Black Hole.
