Egypt 1 offers a lot packed into a short approach and exit. Those with high skill levels can downclimb the entire canyon. Others, or those with muddy feet which is my excuse, will do 3 short rappels to about 7 m ( 23 ft. ). The narrows are quite good, and the challenges just hard enough to keep it interesting.

With competent leadership, this is a great family or beginner friendly canyon. The downclimbs yield fairly easily to team work and partner catches / assists. Though it can hold a bit of water, even a few days after very heavy rains, we only encountered mud, no wadding or swimming.

Note: A bit short as a destination canyon, this small gem makes a great addition to an Egypt 2 or Egypt 3 day, or as a casual after dinner type hike.
