Super fun downclimbs, nice with no ropes/bags Did w Rick, Kat, and Joel
Easy n short. Arch was cute
Completely dry conditions!
Lots of water and several swimmers! Was happy to have a wetsuit in 80s temps. Best to do this canyon early in the day when the sun is shining directly into the canyon.
Spicier than anticipated based on the description. All pools were mostly full of water, but it was warm out and a wetsuit was not necessary. The pull on the second rap was awful. Had to cut our rope after a couple hours of pulling in it.
Fun!!
Stunning scenery & perfect weather in March
Sweet and short canyon! Accidentally brought a 30m rope instead of a 60m (I know, I know). We got through the 1st 2 raps fine, went off the side on the 3rd and downclimbed the rest. 4th rap one of us went off single strand and noticed we could stop off at a ledge. Pulling the rope was an ordeal. Went to the car and got another rope to tie to one end to help with the pull angle. We made it out fine, luckily. Read the directions carefully, kids!
Nice shorter outing. The slot section at the end is great, everything up until then is alright. The ruins are def worth checking out!
A+ Canyon. Did this in 75 degree weather with wetsuits (essential for me since I get cold easily).
Fun canyon AND you get some ruins at the end. Highly recommend this and Cheesebox while you're in the area.
Awesome canyon. We got waist deep in water shortly after the last rappel.
Prettier and easier than I was expecting! I'm 5'3" 130lbs and had no problem getting thru the tight sections. No water in the first section for us, but I slipped in the last pool and was nice and soggy on the hike out.
As of 3/20/17, the second upclimb is blocked by rockfall. Still a pleasant canyon up until that point. We combined this and Happy Canyon in a packrafting trip down the Dirty Devil.
What a pleasant canyon! We combined this canyon with a packrafting trip down the Dirty Devil.
Did this as a backpack. Water wasn't an issue, except for that many pools would freeze in the evening. Beautiful easy hike! Love me them alcoves.
Such a charmer! The middle pothole was indeed cold! Took me a minute to escape that one. The slots after the potholes were the best. Final rap out was classy af.
Fun canyon with lots of variety. Didn't need to ferry rocks. Currently, the last rap can be split up into 2 raps.
I had low expectations for this canyon based on the description, but was pleasantly surprised. It's short, but the hike in was really nice and the slot was a little spicier than expected. Downclimbs were fine, but there is deep pothole that is tricky to get out of alone. All in all, a nice evening slot to finish out the day.
Fun slot and unclimbs!
Hog 1 & 2. The first rappel on Hog 2 didn't seem as long as described. Really great exit through the "birth canal"! Hog 1 had us using a hand line a few times. It was tighter than I was expecting, but really fun!
Nice warm up to Upper Stair.
Fun canyon with lots of chimneying. Sacrum took a beating on this one. Added on the R section at the end and exited out the first slot on the right. Do-able, but prob should have taken the exit after it.
Easy hike with awesome pay off. Watched the sunset on the peak and then hiked over to Sawtooth for another view.
1st rappel was off a chockstone, which was pretty cool. The 2 stage rap was AWESOME. Deep and dark. Did this after Chambers.
Love this canyon. It's tight and requires some grunt work, but the chamber section is stunning and the exit is pretty awesome.
West Fork & Little Blue, nice canyons to do in colder weather.
Visited this arch as a side trip to Hall's Creek Narrows. Awesome!! Yes, there was definitely swimming required.
