Ah, on my first trip through Micro Death Hollow in about 2005, the big first rappel is what left a lasting impression on me. Re-visiting the canyon in 2015 left me surprised at how much action and fun is packed in such a short section of canyon.

This is a canyon with a little bit of everything. You start the day with a mellow approach to a stunning 84 m ( 276 ft. ) rappel down a water worn groove into the belly of the monster. This is followed by a keeper pothole and some sinuous and tight narrows. Though not as tight as Egypt 3, Shenanigans, or the likes, this is one that bigger canyoneers will not like. You can go high, but expect a lot of work. All too soon for skinny canyoneers, or FINALLY if you are a bigger canyoneer, the narrows relent to an easy stretch before the exit.

With the big rappel, keeper pothole, and tight narrows, I would rate this as an intermediate canyon. There are other options for getting started in the canyon, and the exit, but those also require solid skills. Given the ease of access, this is a must do if your in the area.
