Conundrum Canyon is a great, short, photogenic canyon to do when in you are in the North Wash area and have a couple of hours to kill. The canyon, in the entrada sandstone layer, is narrow, but not nearly as narrow and physical as most North Wash proper canyons.
If you are looking for long, very narrow, or physical canyons, look elsewhere. You are likely to be disappointed in Conundrum. If you are looking for a more mellow adventure, this is a good fit. Given the length, ease of passage, and only one rappel, I think this is one of the best beginner canyons in the area and makes an excellent family canyon with proper leadership.
Note: The canyon involves shallow wading, to ankle or a little deeper. The one rappel, however, will involve getting a little wet. Not recommended when it is cold because of this, and be sure if bringing the family along you are prepared for getting wet.
