Little Cottonwood Canyon Pictograph

Little Cottonwood Canyon Pictograph

Little Cottonwood Canyon is stunning with its steep granite walls, high peaks, and swift clear running stream. It is, not surprising, that native peoples spent time in the canyon. Though many of the traces of their presence have disappeared over time, there is a small pictograph near the stream that has stood the test of time. The location of the pictograph, under a large boulder that creates a cozy spot out of the weather, likely lent itself to people camping in the spot over the centuries.

Though small, and only two figures, this is an interesting artifact to visit left by earlier peoples. Unfortunately, modern visitors have vandalized the area around the pictograph, including building fires under the overhang. PLEASE VISIT RESPECTFULLY SO THIS ROCK ART CONTINUES TO BE AVAILABLE FOR FUTURE VISITORS.
