Quick trip before heading home. Nothing too technical but fun. First time trying a Stan’s burger in Hanksville afterwards.
Some route finding on the approach, GPS feature on the app was a must. Longest rappel in a canyon to date!
Really fun, good chimney/stemming opportunities. Water wasn’t too cold and the final rap into the pool was in a cool amphitheater.
Wider, open canyon. Nasty water that was very cold. Should have worn the wetsuits and the rocks to sun ourselves were a necessity. Took the shortcut approach and route.
Wayne, Jacob, Kyra and Desert Jesus. Late start waiting for Wayne to contact Bob and made a friend that guided us through the canyon and brought him to his buried ammo box of supplies.
Alternative to Constrychnine due to a short pull cord…thanks Wayne 😜 Wayne, Jacob and Kyra.
Wayne, Jacob and Kyra joined us. Camp was at the trail head.
Only had time for headless hen, difficult route finding, Fawne wasn’t moving fast or confident with climbing abilities and found a way out the canyon to quit. Bob jumped a drop off and broke his ankle but finished the day.
Fawne and Bob came with. Kaia stayed I. The shade by the canyon. Cool moki balls and found a big bull snake in the hike in.
Started the canyon with Bob and Kaia but she couldn’t get down a section so Bob turned back with her. Hot hike back!
Lots of tourist, heard many foreign languages…Nick saw a Dutch woman’s poop pile.
Rain day/rest day
Awesome, long hike across rivers and spectacular rap down golden cathedral. Water levels were perfect!
Guided Nick’s PTA classmates down the canyon.
Owl rock was too wet to climb so we joined a couple after helping them find the start of the canyon.
