6hrs. C2C. Nancy, Todd, Boone, me. 84°. 3L water, muddy and waist deep water in 5 spots. Shorts (horrible idea). Only rapped twice. Nancy’s limit. Very tight. Possibly as tight as middle Lep? High possibility of wedging. The potholes were more semi-keeper than last time. This canyon is incredibly physical and squeezy for a long time. The crux involved significant body contortions and gravity, defying and squeezing. Awesome Canyon! Not as scenic as some, but a truly unique challenge. |

Once again had a blast! This really is one of the best canyons in the Roost and one of the best campspots around. Did this with Weston and Carson. Still seemed pretty straight forward and easy. Not as tight as everyone makes it out to be. I did wear a heavy hoodie and knee pads under my pants this time which helped immensely. Would recommend doing that from now on for these tighter canyons. Had some water but it didn't detract from the experience. Pot hole rappel was deeper than last time, which was tricky to jump out of. |

Excellent canyon. We wore wetsuits but didn’t really feel like we needed them as there wasn’t enough water to justify it, though this could change. Canyon starts with a SICK free rap. 60m to the back of your vehicle will start you off nicely. Canyon slots up and become narrow and can be dark enough for a headlamp. Beautiful structures, two hand lines existed as well as a sharp metal fan about 80% of the way down past the first or second hand line. Hike out is nice, but is very exposed in the warmer months, bring something to change into. |

Trailhead camping was very cold and windy. Group member warmed themselves in a sunny spot while waiting for everyone to rap in. But the canyon itself was fantastic. Only did two rappels: the first bumper rap, and the pothole rap. At this time it seems enough debris has washed through to completely eliminate the potential final rappel. Just some boulder hopping and scrambling for now. Some water, including ankle deep at the potential 3rd rappel (it had a hand line on it and everyone descended that way or down-climbed), but nothing more than a foot deep. The cooler weather made the hike out nice. Road in has some nasty washboard sections and sand had blown over it in places, but nothing completely impassible. I could have gotten my civic back there, but ended up parking it and jumping in with others just to get past the washboard in good time without shaking my car to pieces. |

Awesome canyon with a great view on the walkout. Had holes mostly knee-high. The highest has water up to the thigh. Pothole has very little water. Road is sandy but very manageable. Great outing but Ryan is correct. I would not want to be much larger. |

Canyon levels much lower. Canyon was much tighter and harder than last time, requiring more stemming. |

Really fun canyon! Not as hard as expected from stories and beta. Both rappels are pretty straight forward. Mostly this canyon is just tight. There are only a few spots that you have to stem above the deck. This canyon has a unique character of very dark and sinuous. I would definitely recommend long sleeve shirts and pants since it is so tight. Also the down climbing is very knee and elbow intensive since the canyon is so tight. |

Went through Alcatraz 4/4. Couple of spots with water but avoidable in all except 2-3 spots with the deepest section only being thigh deep. Great quick option! |

This was a sweet canyon. The hike out takes a little longer than you might think. Beautiful views and total solitude. |

A fantastic canyon indeed and quite challenging, however due to the many very tight slots I would NOT recommend for anyone over 175-180lb. I am on the smaller side and had no problem squeezing through many areas my friends had to climb up and over, but my buddy got stuck twice and due to temps dropping into the 20's that night, 3 of us hiked out to get him help. We have done many canyons together and this is the 1st time we had difficulty. A very tumultuous situation, luckily turned out well. I would also not do this canyon with less then 4 people. |

Driving beta is a bit odd here: "Go left again in less than 0.1 miles." I would say that you fork right at the junction at 7 miles, and then go straight down the road past a turnoff to the right. There's no left turn to speak of. Essentially follow the sign to Ekker ranch at that point. Road conditions were no sweat in a Honda Civic all the way to the end. No wetsuit needed, water got knee deep at the worst where it was unavoidable. The slot is very real here, gloves were super helpful just because of how often your hands were in contact with the walls. Every piece of equipment you own will get shredded to bits. A lot of fun and quite challenging at times. Good camping at trailhead or on the Larry exit road just past. |

3.45c2c me, suzy. only rapped once (out of the pothole) after the big entry rap. a LOT of deep, dark, amazing, contorted shimmying. Easier than Chambers, but more squeezing for longer and almost as tight. |
