J&F. Beautiful canyon with nice slickrock terraces, interesting views, and a rather intimidating rappel over a wicked head cut. Nice day poking around and sorting out the area roads. Went home via the Yellowcat road to the Cisco exit. |

W Anthony; USE A SINGLE STRAND DOUBLE ROPE RAPPEL I got stuck 20ft below the tree about 60ft above the floor and had to ascend using a prussik-PAS combo |

Did this with Kaden, Ron and Flo. Looks intimidatingly, but rappels pretty well off of the large juniper tree. The bottom chamber is pretty spectacular and the short narrow below were better than expected. |

did on our own: me, lizzy, lottes, april and ellie. picked up rope on return, set up our own anchor off a tree. interesting multi stage rap, def bad pull. |

We hiked this with Wendy Thompson and kids. Their kids walked around to the bottom of the canyon while the rest of the group rappelled down. We left the rope set up. The best approach is a little after the two roads/tracks meet (as shown on the map), and you can probably climb out sooner than the map shows. Since it was super hot and we had beginner canyoneers, it took almost 5 hours instead of the 1-2 stated. The drive from Moab was 75 minutes. We got a flat on the dirt road, but that was just bad luck. The actual slot was pretty short, but deep right at the bottom of the rappel. The rappel was a 2 stage rappel with a dry pothole halfway. Some of the beginners in our group Struggled a little getting over the log at the top of the second half of the rappel, but it wasnât too bad. |
